Taneda Santōka, Dans "Le Bol du Mendiant" « In this book, through illustrated poems with most simplicity, a lot of empathy, and always humor, Manda shares with us her the experience of nature Santōka had. Calligraphies, powerful and balanced, by Ibata Shōtei, pleases the reader eyes. Therefore, Manda's haiga, Ibata's brush strokes and Santōka's lines mingle in a in a picture and characters interlace which livens up each page in a spectacular way. The year 2008 was the 150th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relationship between Japan & France. Many cultural events occured, but Manda's initiative, as a great specialist with a sensitivity to Japan's cultural value, remained one of the most remarkable ones. With this book, readers will be able to comprehend the very essence of haiku and Japanese literature. » Tsukasa KAWADA, Consul-General of Japan in Strasbourg, France. |

Bashō, Carnets de voyage "Nozarashi Kikō" In the composition, calligraphy and paintings, ink and colors dialogue well with Matsuo Bashō’s original esthetics. The répartition of the éléments deals with the whitness of the paper as well as with the ink strokes, with well-balanced as well as with unbalanced subjects of the pictures. Paying particular attention to preserve some white space, the brush goes quickly all around the paper in order to lay down ink strokes representing trees, birds, small vegetables, insects, birds or rare flowers borrowed from the symbolic list of seasonal subjects, come freely to confirm the concerns of the master and general reflections of the buddistic philosophy.
